September 5, 2010:

This is a painted grenade, a relic from the Vietnam war. I picked it up while traveling South East Asia back in ’05, in a town that was so heavily bombed you could easily find leftovers from the wartime they suffered. I mailed it to myself and kept it in my room, as I thought it was so interesting to have an artifact that had potentially killed a human(s). But it was like a little bubble of darkness in there, so I decided I needed to heal it. So this week I painted it up and transformed it into a literal Bomb of Light.
